Dr. Amanda Bloomberg

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Amanda Bloomberg is a native to the Bay Area growing up in Fremont and attending Santa Clara University for her undergraduate degree. She graduated from Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.

She is very excited to have the opportunity to open The Animal Wellness Center of Danville where she will continue building relationships with clients and patients in the Tri-Valley and beyond. Family is her core and foundation not only in her personal life but also in her work life. Her goal is to create a privately owned, small animal hospital that prioritizes a healthy workspace and life balance for the staff while focusing on treating its patients and clients with high-quality, modern medicine and personalized care.

Her professional interests include feline medicine and senior care but her favorite part of being a veterinarian is being able to form relationships with her clients and their pets. She has a passion for educating clients about their pets’ well-being and believes strongly in working as a team with them to formulate the best plan of action for their pets.

Dr. Bloomberg lives in Pleasanton with her husband, Francisco, and their 2 year old son, Zander. Her list of four-legged family members is ever growing but currently includes 2 Chihuahua mutts (Zooey and Pepe) and 4 crazy cats (Tito, Vinnie, Clara, and Linus).

Dr. Siliva Cancinos

Veterinarian

Dr. Silvia was born in Guatemala and immigrated to the U.S. at an early age. Growing up in Orange County, her love for animals started early on and was fueled by her love for her childhood dog, a miniature schnauzer named Oly.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis before graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed a mixed animal internship with Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center and Penryn Pet Hospital, where she gained experience in general practice and urgent care for cats, dogs, horses, and goats.

Dr. Silvia enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in small animal urgent care, dermatology, and preventative medicine. She is passionate about supporting the human–animal bond and believes in creating individualized treatment plans tailored to each pet’s unique needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Silvia and her husband, Jonathan, enjoy spending time outdoors and going on adventures with their German Shepherd mix, Luna. She also enjoys all things Peloton, baking, and getting lost in a good mystery novel.

Dr. Karin Connor

Veterinarian

Dr. Karin Connor grew up in Livermore, California, inspired by her grandfather who was also a veterinarian. She completed her undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley and spent a year studying abroad at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. This led to her acceptance into The University of Glasgow’s School of Veterinary Medicine, the same institution attended by James Herriot, author of All Creatures Great and Small. During her veterinary training, she gained valuable experience through clinical placements in practices across Scotland and in California.

After six years in Scotland, Dr. Connor and her husband returned to Livermore, where they now live with their children and a menagerie of eight pets: two dogs (Cindy, a Shepherd mix, and Tim, a Chihuahua), three cats (Bonnie, Queen Furball V, and Fergus), and three backyard chickens (Snowball, Eska, and Queso). She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Connor has practiced veterinary medicine for 18 years, mostly as a general practitioner, with additional experience in urgent care and in-home euthanasia services. She is committed to providing compassionate end-of-life care and comprehensive healthcare throughout the whole of pets’ lives. Dr. Connor values building strong relationships with both her patients and their families, whether treating rambunctious puppies and kittens or providing gentle care for senior animals. She is excited to be part of the team at The Animal Wellness Center of Danville.

Dr. Jessica Paige

Chiropractor

Dr. Jessica Paige’s journey to becoming a chiropractor began on the field and court. As a standout high school and collegiate athlete, she was no stranger to the toll that sports could take on the body — or the relief chiropractic care could bring. Regularly benefitting from adjustments herself, she discovered her passion for the field after earning her Bachelor of Science with Honors from Union College in New York. At the encouragement of her own chiropractor, she enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic West, a world-renowned institution celebrated for its excellence in chiropractic training. By 2003, Dr. Paige had earned her Doctorate in Chiropractic and was ready to bring her expertise to San Jose, where she specializes in Active Release Technique (soft tissue specialty) and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician — both demanding advanced training and skills.

Her dedication to animal care was sparked in 2017 after witnessing the transformative power of chiropractic adjustments on animals. Inspired, she completed an intensive postgraduate program at Options for Animals in Kansas, becoming certified through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Today, Dr. Paige treats animals for conditions such as back and neck injuries, persistent limps, arthritis, IVDD, and more, always striving to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Paige’s sports background doesn’t just inform her care for human patients — it directly shapes her approach to treating animals. Her understanding of athletic performance, biomechanics, and injury prevention translates seamlessly to her animal practice, where she helps pets and large animals recover from injuries, improve mobility, and maintain optimal function. By blending her experience working with human athletes and her specialized animal chiropractic training, Dr. Paige delivers exceptional care for every member of the family.

Outside the office, Dr. Paige is an avid pickleball player, competing in local tournaments and bringing the same passion for performance and wellness to the court. She’s also deeply involved in community outreach, sharing her knowledge and helping to promote healthier lifestyles for both humans and their furry companions.

Whether she’s caring for a human athlete or a beloved family pet, Dr. Paige is passionate about keeping every family member — two- or four-legged — active, comfortable, and thriving.

Kari Dummer

Practice Manager, CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager)

Since beginning my career in the veterinary field at just 18 years old, (I’m now in my late 40’s!) I have had the privilege of working in various roles, including receptionist, veterinary assistant, and management. My journey started in Grand Rapids, MI, with a local veterinarian who also served as the zoo vet for John Ball Zoo. This unique opportunity allowed me to gain hands-on experience with a wide range of species, from eyelash vipers and bald eagles to lions and bears, and many cats and dogs in between.

In 2005, I moved from Michigan to California and took a step back from the veterinary field to focus on raising my two kids, Hudson and Ella, who are now 23 and 20. I re-entered the veterinary world in 2019, just before the pandemic, after meeting Dr. Bloomberg as my pets’ veterinarian. I was so impressed with her approach and care that I joined her team and have been thrilled to work alongside her ever since.

My lifelong passion for animals drives my commitment to helping those who cannot speak for themselves, the patients. Equally important to me is supporting pet owners during challenging times, ensuring that they feel heard, supported, and confident in the care their animals receive. I also believe that the well-being of our employees is just as crucial. I am dedicated to creating an environment where every team member feels valued, respected, and treated fairly—not just as employees, but as individuals deserving of dignity and compassion.
Currently, I live in San Ramon with my husband of 23 years, our boxer, and three cats. Our son recently graduated college, and our daughter is at the University of Oregon—go Ducks! As we prepare for the transition to being empty nesters, I remain focused on fostering a collaborative and compassionate environment for clients, patients, and our dedicated staff.
